Waterworks has been in business since the early 1990s, but it took on its tiki theming when it moved to this location in 2000. The space is decorated in thorough retro-tiki lounge style, with a rock wall, knotty pine walls, colored lamps, thatch, and tall carved tiki poles. The windows have a "rain" effect. The food is casual fare. The tropical drinks skew more Florida-classic, though there are some old tiki standbys, and they're served in tiki mugs. The back of Waterworks holds "Spaceport," a retro-futuristic space.
Stopped at Waterworks mid-week on a trip thru Tallahassee. We arrived at opening time so had the place to ourselves. The decor is good with a tiki vibe, service is friendly, drinks are good but miss the mark. Food menu is limited . Overall we enjoyed our visit.
Visited Waterworks while just passing through Tallahassee. It was early and quiet on a Tuesday night. Met the owner who was super friendly and we had great conversation. I had a Yellowbird and my wife had a Zombie. Both were delicious. Loved the decor and atmosphere. Highly recommended if your in Tallahassee.
We decided to be wild and made an impromptu trip from Atlanta to Tallahassee on a Saturday night. We rolled into Waterworks around 10:30 and the place was swinging. This was our first time and to say the least we weren’t disappointed. We had a blast. Great decor, great vibe and an amazing staff. We felt really welcomed. The water wall was one of my favorite features and though they weren’t playing exotica, the new wave 80’s somehow fit just fine. We had the mystery drink, a zombie, a mai tai and the Shrunken head all were awesome but the shrunken head was my favorite. The food is great. I had the horseradish slaw dog and the wife had the Jive Turkey. Both were really good but I kind of wish I had gotten the Jive Turkey as well really tasty. They didn’t have a house mug for sale but we bought a replica of the shrunken head mug to commemorate our trip on amazon. We had a fantastic time and I don’t know why we haven’t been here before since it’s just four hours away from us. Definitely going back. In the meantime you guys should really think about making a house mug.

Came here to see the Intoxicators/ Disasternauts play. Staff were super friendly. Drinks were good , especially the mystery drink. They had a good mix of tiki bar appropriate music playing. Overall had a super good time here and will definitely be back!
This place is consistently a highlight for a trip to Tallahassee. The rain windows are super cool and they help to set a mysterious and tropical mood inside. There's a stage and a nice big bar with ample seating. Music is exotica and their blended drinks are made in the kitchen so you don't have to hear the noise, which is nice. Sadly, I think they've closed the space-port like area in the back, but maybe there's more seating coming..?
