Humuhumu’s description

The LuWow opened in 2011 in Fitzroy, a suburb of Melbourne. The LuWow was divided into two sections: the Island Village, which was a traditional Tiki bar, and the Forbidden Temple, a music hall. On weekends, the music hall portion hosted bands, '60s-era DJs, and the occasional Polynesian revue.
The LuWow closed in late December 2016, when their lease on the space ran out.

Sadly The LuWow will be closing its doors for good on the 23rd of December. It was always a temporary lease and that 5yr lease has now run its course.
As far as i know the owners have no plans at all to reopen it in another location, or to start a new bar and are taking a break for a while.

Just a slight correction, the Island Village is more a Tiki Bar where you can order food. They stopped doing food on the premises ages ago and now they get it from an Asian restaurant a few doors down. It's good food but a bit pricey.
