Frankie's Tiki Room is open 24 hours a day, every day. It opened in 2008. The basis is a traditional Polynesian Pop environment, with beautiful tapa cloth and intricate carvings, with an unusual overlay of crass nods to Las Vegas hedonism.

This is the bar that popped my tiki cherry. I love the staff ( super talented). Dim lit, surf rock blairing, exotic paradise created by the punk rock geniuses p moss and bamboo Ben. Best place in Las Vegas. BUY THE BOOK! The recipes are genuine and fantastic.

OK so the Golden Tiki opened since I last rated Frankie's and I have been to both. The drinks at Golden Tiki have improved and are probably better than at Frankie's, but GT has fewer drink offerings. I haven't watched the bartenders at GT but at Frankie's they free pour from four bottles simultaneously and drink consistency suffers. And while they both allow smoking, GT has a much better ventilation system and you don't come out smelling like an ash tray.

But every time I've been to GT they are playing rock music and it kills the mood. Frankie's decor, low lighting and music transports me to another world, while GT is eclectic, with a mix of tiki and Disneyland.

GT has superior social media exposure while Frankie's seems to want that local vibe for those in the know. When I have a choice I put on disposable clothes and head to Frankie's.
