This Don the Beachcomber location operated in the 1970s and early '80s, and was one of the round, UFO-shaped locations. It was next to the original location of the Chili's chain of restaurants, which is still there today.
The restaurant was bulldozed to make way for a gas station some time in the '80s; a Stop N' Go is there now.
Before I lived in Dallas, some friends took me for lunch around 1979-80. I enjoyed it then. But I was young and didn't appreciate it. When I moved here in'83, I was very busy and didn't even think about it for years. Ten years ago I went to the location and tried to find any clues in the concrete parking lot. I can't believe they demolished it for a convenience store. The convenience store recently closed.
