About:
Quit working at the LUAU when I joined a band called "Thee Counts" , a group out of East Los Angeles. There were great groups in E.L.A. at that time. Thee Midniters, Cannonball and the Headhunters, to many to name, but great talent from E.L.A. in those years. Had a 1 hit 45 called "Someday I'm Gonna Get You" Was played on American Bandstand as a new record. Out of 5 or so others, our record was voted best new record that week . Two weeks later, I was drafted, May 6th of 1968. This is a pic from a rock and roll show. Did well. Played every Fri & Sat, booked months in advance. Opened up for "The 5th Deminsinn, The Turtles, Buffalo Springfield, and other 60 groups. When we were playing at The Whiskey, the Doors were playing up the street at Gazarries.
