Hong Kong Inn has been open since 1964. The decor and cuisine are decidedly Chinese, but tropical drinks are served (including volcano bowls), and most notably, there is a Polynesian revue on Friday and Saturday nights at 9pm.

The weekend floorshow is worthwhile and entertaining. The restaurant itself is pretty much just an old Chinese joint, though some decor points in the bar are interesting and almost elaborate. Still, the only reason to go is for the show, which features adult and child dancers, along with authentic live music.

Go for the lovely Wahines of the Polynesian Revue. Enjoy the adequate drinks, but don't expect much from the food.

The Hong Kong Inn closed on Nov 30, 2012:

"After 48 wonderful years, 100,000 Scorpions and Mai Tai's, 3,600 Polynesian revues, 10 children, and 15 grandchildren, the Hong Kong Inn of Ventura will be closing its doors on November 30, 2012. We're retiring!"
