This über-cheesy take on tiki opened in 2005. There are reports that food is no longer served, but the website still says they serve burgers. Apparently it's now more of a dance club. Cartoony tikis and monkeys abound. Everything I've seen would indicate that this place is truly awful.

this place had potential when they were settin' it up but that all went to HELL when they opened the doors to doucebags and club kids, look forward to bad dance music ,doormen with leather gloves,half finished decor and a general sence of cluelessness when asked about TIKI here....or go ahead for a laff !

OK, THE LATEST NEWS ......
MONKEY ISLAND IS NOW CLOSED!
The bamboo has been stripped from the face of the building and the interior is gutted!
New disco at that location I'm sure....can you say 2 for 1 watered down highballs?
( not gonna say yet who managed to appropriate the bamboo lol)
