Humuhumu’s description:
This bar is pieced together from remainders of the legendary Beverly Hills Trader Vic's, which closed in 2007 after more than 50 years. A few items from the restaurant were saved and relocated to this new lounge near the hotel's pool. The space is sleek, modern and airyŚa sharp contrast to the intimate feel of the old restaurant. Tropical drinks and a few pupus are served in this small, casual space with an outdoor patio.
How to find it:
Trader Vic's Lounge is located by the pool inside the Beverly Hilton hotel, at the corner of Santa Monica Blvd. and Olympic Blvd.
Parking is available in the hotel, but it can be priceyŚlook for metered parking on the streets just to the south of Santa Monica Blvd. instead.

boring corporate attempt at adding revenue to the hotel while faking the visiting people out....they say its a Trader Vics but its actually a small bar off the hotel's new Cica 55 modern restaurant...nice try but the people can tell it's a scam...the bartender readily admits the scam and laughs about it to your face...

Wow, I really miss the old TV @ The Beverly Hilton but I can appreciate the bar here for what it is. It's a compromise BUT at least they have the cocktails right! The space is small and a little on the bright side but it does give you a little TV feeling, especially after a Navy Grog or 2.

So I was recently in LA and decided to drop by at this spot. First off, it is annoying you need to pay to park. Regardless I came in for a drink. First off, the good. It is a nice spot indoor / outdoor with some tiki style and the classic Trader Vic's drinks in a mug. They have a small polynesian menu as well. But for the bad, the place is a bit generic now and does not have a true tiki vibe. I also wish, because of how special the original spot was here, that they kept some more memorabilia. I don't think I will be back, but glad I saw the spot. The gift shop should sell some merchandise but does not. No music, no special shirts...I hope they see the error of their ways and go back to the glory days of LA tiki
