The Mai Kai Restaurant was relatively streamlined in decoration, with red-orange and gold being the dominant colors, and spears and a white tiki plaque on the wall; it probably was operating in the late-'60s into the '70s. It was owned by Peter Yee, who also owned a sister location in Hampton Beach. This site is currently the Uptown Tavern.
