The Temple Bar was owned and run by a Hawaiian family, and for a time had only been open for special events, such as visiting Hawaiian musicians, or occasional Sunday luaus. Toward the end, it began staying open five nights a week as a restaurant. It closed in 2011.

I have very sad news to report that I just found out last night. As of 9/8/10 the Temple Bar has closed due to retirement after 20 years in the business. I can't express how much I'm going to miss this little gem.

Very sorry to hear that. I've only been there a couple of times but really enjoyed the odd victoriana/polypop mix and the excellent drinks.
