This attraction used to be a duplicate of the original Enchanted Tiki Room found at Disneyland, but in the mid-90s it was updated to be more "modern" and included Iago and Zazu, and (sigh)... rap. The loud, unsettling and money-focused show featured disco balls, flashing lights, and in place of the beloved waterfall, a shouting, angry tiki goddess named "Polynesia." I'd heard how awful this redo was (and even read the script online), and still I was unprepared for how heartbreaking it really was. In January 2011, a fire struck the Enchanted Tiki Room, and the show room was damaged enough to shut it down. It needs to be rebuilt, and will come back as the Enchanted Tiki Room "Tropical Serenade", a version "reminiscent of the original show". The building itself has been worth a visit, with classic Exotica (such as Martin Denny) can often be heard playing in the lovely lanai area. Until the show re-opens, get a fix of your Enchanted Tiki Room jones at the Polynesian Resort, which has tikis from the original Tiki Room's pre-show scattered all about the hotel.

Traveller when you come to the Magic Kingdom...watch this abomination and then tell the guest services (town hall at Main Street USA) what you think about actually destroying Walt's favorite attraction by violating the classic Tiki Room with a "new management"! Complain! Tell them it was called the Tiki Room because there was a TIKI style show there with wonderful songs and music. And tell the, that you will boycott this terrible, loud, aggressive, annoying show as long as the Disney imagineers don't give us back the real Tiki Room show. I hate this show beyond belief because it wiped out one of the most TIKI locations of the world.
Tiki in Berlin is a semi-regular at The Enchanted Tiki Room.

It's back, baby!!! Just like the original at Disneyland (minus the Offenbach to be consistent). The only significant difference other than the decor and the architecture is the enchanted fountain is missing its spout!?!? The fountain fogs up, but there are no waterworks. A little disappointing, but understandable if Offenbach wasn't making a return during the restoration from the previous abomination.
