Add it to Critiki! Humuhumu’s description:
The Islands Restaurant is situated in the Hanalei Hotel, and is next to Islands Sushi and Pupu Bar. The restaurant has managed to stay more mid-century Polynesian than the rest of the hotel, which has mostly been updated over the years. The traditional restaurant features lovely carved railings throughout, large glass float lights, and dramatic clam shell fountains. Some of the tikis here were salvaged from Steve Crane's Luau in Beverly Hills.
In November 2006, the a six-month renovation of the restaurant was begun. Plans call for the waterfalls, fountains and other water features to be removed, along with much of the tiki artifacts. It is unknown what the fate of these artifacts will be.

I love the tropical touch in this restaurant. The original decor is fantastic and the staff is fabulous. I am planning on going back next week.
